The Sauvage was designed by François Demanchy , star perfumer and in-house fragrance creator of Dior . With his composition, inspired by nature, Demanchy builds on the legendary Dior Eau Sauvage from 1966, which at that time already caused a certain sensation due to its unconventional, untamed character. The new interpretation of this wild, masculine fragrance reduced to a puristic minimum not only in the name. But also in the selection and composition of the ingredients.

The top note follows the classic principle of enriching the first impression with an intense citrus aroma and a slightly peppery-tart sound with powerful freshness and sovereignty . This effect caused by the solitary aroma of the bergamot from Reggio di Calabria, the intensity of which does not allow any further secondary chords. After the fruity-tart prelude has evaporated, a heart note of valuable ambroxan, which is obtained from the classic amber fragrance and is characterized by a smoky, woody and coarse odor, unfolds. This dominant smell also works beyond the base note, which rounded off with spicy-resinous essences of elmi resin. Sichuan pepper and patchouli, as a memorable sillage that may seem too intense to some.
